Assessment and Evaluation (EN4706) introduces students to the principles and practices of assessing and evaluating language learning. The course explores different types and purposes of language tests and helps students understand what makes an assessment fair, reliable, valid, and practical.
Students will learn how to design simple language assessment tasks, write effective test questions, assess different language skills, and use a variety of assessment approaches, including portfolios, self-assessment, peer assessment, and continuous classroom assessment. Through practical activities, discussions, group work, and presentations, students will develop the skills needed to evaluate existing assessments and make informed decisions about language assessment in educational contexts.
